Assholes, does someone have to threaten to quit to get paid what they deserve?! As unfortunate as it is, that's often the most effective way to get a raise. But it's also the dumbest, because you're usually still better off switching companies at that point, as you already know you'll have to basically threaten to quit again to get your next raise. The amusing stories are the ones where people threaten to leave if they don't get a raise, and are either let go on the spot, or told to go ahead.
