The chemistry between Holmes and Watson is pretty great and feels pretty in line with the books. Their individual characterizations are a bit different though. Most notably, Holmes is more cantankerous, and Watson is more aggressive. Lestrade is a bit less stubborn. Sherlock and Mycroft being rivals is a bit odd. "A Study in Pink" is a parallel to "A Study in Scarlet," obviously. It's largely a different story with nods to the original that fans will pick up on (particularly the two pills and the writing of the word "Rache," although the relevance of the latter is totally different here). Like I said before, I'm not a purist when it comes to adaptations. I don't mind seeing people put a new twist on the formula. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
