No, what I'm doing is pointing out the problem with advocating for large scale reform using the basis of a single crime as justification. Likewise I would not say we need to open up the borders because of X immigrant who pulled a baby out of a fire, because that would be dumb.

Since illegals are law breakers to begin with, the logic of, "build a wall, control immigration" makes perfect sense. Not only does it maintain law and order and civility, but it also prevents murders like this one.

This requires several fairly large jumps in reasoning. Should we ban white people from schools, because white people are the ones committing mass gun killing sprees in schools? You could point to any of those circumstances and say "see, if that kid wasn't in that school this wouldn't have happened".

Incidentally it also presumes that building a wall will even be effective at controlling illegal immigration and the jury is still out on that one.

This persons murder is not justifying my stance, it is verifying my stance. I had this stance long before Molly got killed because I am one of the ones that say this is the kind of stuff that happens when you have unchecked open borders.

It doesn't verify your stance at all no more than giving a monkey a machine gun and sitting patiently until he hits a target at random justifies the position that monkeys are crackshots with a rifle.

So you stop using this as a "This is an exception" political stance as an excuse to say we don't need border security and that illegals should get amnesty.

I don't care if it's mother teresa, if she hopped the border illegally, then she needs to be deported, and if she won't go peacefully, thats what guns are for.

If you want to talk about whether putting up a wall will have a net social benefit and needs to be done I think that's a different conversation to "see this woman got killed, that's why we need the wall", which is completely how you phrased this topic.

Your last point sums up your position quite well though. No matter how good a person is, the only solution is to deport them immediately and failing that shoot them. I mean we couldn't possibly look at other solutions like getting that saint of a person a visa because they will obviously make America better, that would be dumb...wait I thought Trump was all about merit-based migration reform? Or is that just bullshit?
