Good lord.

Average I think is a poor measurement. Say you have one 700 lb landwhale and nine 125 lb women. Their average weight is 183.

Average is a misleading metric to use, when you consider that extremely obese people skew the average a lot more than extremely underweight people.

If you're 300-600 pounds you can still live 15-20 years. If you're 50 pounds, then you're dead.

Honestly, the best metric is MEDIAN weight and height if you can get accurate measurements for a million people.

So what is the median weight then? Unless I am missing it on the CDC website.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/series/sr_03/sr03_039.pdf

Median (50th percentile) is 159 lbs. Which... isn't that different than a mean of 169. If we focus on the 20-39 female crew the median is 155-ish.

I see, so in this case the figure was around the same anyway even if we use median.

So, the median woman is a "whale".
