Now that you've realised that all forms of insult aren't equal, you might realise why I'm arguing that a crass remark said in excitement should not be a fireable offence, because that's pretty low on the "offensive" scale. streamofthesky posted... I simply called a spade a spade. You questioned her intelligence based on one Twitter post. If you don't see the issue there, I can't really help you. streamofthesky posted... It highlights that Hickam is a very nice person, and basically went to bat for her. Nothing more. He had no involvement in her firing (nor original hiring), felt guilty thinking his involvement lead to her getting fired, and then put in effort to help her. Maybe you have different standards than I do, but I certainly wouldn't put my neck on the line for an intern unless I thought they were legitimately good for the company and good at their job. If an intern got fired because of me and I looked into it and discovered they were actually a piece of shit, I wouldn't feel all that put out that they lost their job. --- Kill 1 man: You are a murderer.
