Why does the modern world hate natural selection so much?
Honestly it seemed like a pretty weak reason to get fired in the first place. Her "insult" was crude, but really more of an expression of excitement and enthusiasm that she got accepted to NASA in the first place (and one that's not exactly out of place given the general tone of Twitter). It was a stupid thing to do, certainly, but not exactly something I'd consider a fireable offence. Should have warranted a stern talking-to by HR at most.
I think her first post was fine, and if it had been left at that she wouldn't have been fired or at least...shouldn't have been.
But when she fires back that she works at NASA, so suck her [male genitals] (ok...) then that was going too far. Just a really fucking stupid thing to do. Unbelievably stupid. I'm pro- punishing stupidity. Plus NASA is a dream job and internships are probably quite competitive. I'd rather some non- dumb ass who barely didn't make the cut got that opportunity instead.
