You're right. The law tends to protect criminals these days and punish the victims. This again doesn't mean I agree with it. If you commit a crime you deserve everything you get and that's a fair thought process in my book as the criminal is the one in the wrong to begin with. Had said criminal not decided to steal a wallet in this case then he would be still alive.
