Eh, I don't see any real issues with it. I usually miss the majority of the round anyways.

If I wait an hour, typically I just wont be here and wont ever be able to participate in my own contest.

I get how there might be slight questions of fairness, but that's also why I purposefully try to keep the matches long. I've had it be 2 saves per hour instead of 3 so far so the rounds last longer, giving everyone ample time to see the new round and get at least one pair of saves in.
