Should be? Depends the situation. I won't however punish the victim if it came to that accidentally or otherwise simply because said criminal has no business breaking the law in the first place and, in this case causing problems for other people.

It isnt about protecting criminals, its about having actual law and order and not violent anarchy. The implication that anyone thinks the victim deserved to be targeted is off base, thats what makes the theft a crime.
Yeah silly me. The victim should have just shaken his hand or better yet gave him his house key too so he can rob the rest of his stuff. We at PotD reward thefts, ok?
