I tried playing Shudderwock when the expansion dropped, but it just wasn't very good.

I've said it before but the way you play around a Shudderwock deck is by playing around Volcano and lightning storm, since it was really mostly a control deck.

Know what plays around Volcano pretty good? Devilsaur Eggs, which are all over ladder right now. Also Boommaster Flark which everyone was experimenting with the first couple days.

Faster combo decks have also always beaten shudderwock. You generally need to draw your whole deck, and Shaman does that slower than other classes.

If everyone stops running egg decks and turbo combo decks, and goes back to running easy-to-beat decks like Odd Rogue, then Shudderwock can make a comeback. But last I tried it didn't seem very well positioned in the meta.

So it turns out that you don't need to OTK with Shudderwock to win, usually a strong battlecry heavy turn will win a lot against control, as best case scenario they really can't do much against a bunch of Giants (or a turn 5 double creeper into Thrall)
