#12: San Juan del Sur
Average Ranking: 13.18

DoctorBlind: 1 - I dont think I realized San Juan del Sur was my favorite season until I finished this list. But man I really got into this season when it aired, and its still so good upon rewatch! A major part of its success is in its editing. For me, a great deal of enjoyment comes from the winner. Not only was the winner one of my favorites, but the editors kept me guessing the entire time. Id think it was someones to lose and then bam! theyre voted out. Really this season had a fantastic cast and I was thoroughly and enjoyably bamboozled throughout.

Inviso: 3 - I love that we got a one-two punch of Cagayan and San Juan Del Sur back-to-back because after a LONG period of stagnation, we needed some strong seasons in row. Now, while a lot of people are critical of the San Juan Del Sur pre-merge, I actually enjoy it for the most part. Prior to the swap, you have a series of entertaining episodes that, while not amazing, still culminate in one of the best single-episode performances ever by a pre-merge boot. Post-swap is weak, and Id say the three-episode string from the swap to the merge episode are the weakest parts of the season. But from the merge episode onward, EVERYTHING this season does is amazing. The season is just a long series of blindsides, but they never feel like blindsides for the sake of big moves. There are emotional consequences time and time again. While the eventual winner is awesome, its not a story told solely from one persons perspective, and in fact, there are plenty of non-winners built up as solid winner contenders. Like Cagayan, I think the final six is filled with All-Stars, and unlike Cagayan, I dont outright hate a single one of them. And also important to note is the return of the Blood vs. Water twist, which I think is played out FAR better this time around than it was originally. The relationships actually matter, rather than leading to a dumb meme and most of the pairs getting split up before the season even reaches double digits. So yeah, San Juan Del Sur is awesome.

YoRyan: 11 - admittedly , with the exception of Drew's boot, the pre merge is weak.but the post merge starting with Josh's boots is one of the best stretches of episodes ever for the show. Reminded me why i loved the show in the first place

Naye745: 11 - another season with one loaded tribe - blue team had Natalie, Jeremy, Keith, Jon, Drew, and Kelley. Natalie being unexpectedly enjoyable and brilliant after seeing her on TAR was a great surprise, and her comeback after being blindsided on the Jeremy boot was one of the all-time best Survivor wins.

FBike: 12 - This season was initially supposed to have a 20-player cast and Redemption Island. Fortunately, last-minute changes resulted in a season that wasn't too ridiculously fast-paced and unwatchable.
