You could say it's a shame that the bass layer barely changes throughout the entire song, but honestly I think it sounds great. Sounds like it's building up to something epic. I also like that contrast between the guitar+drums and the airy pads with the slight choral touch. The first 52 seconds sets a great foundation for a song that catches my attention. But then the lead guitar comes in and makes the song a lot worse. The best way I can put it is that it sounds to me like the lead guitar doesn't belong there, like it's some guy who showed up and just decided to jam out over the top of the backing band. Something about the sound of it makes it feel "fake", like the audio version of a photoshopped image. Also some of the parts it plays are just kinda bad anyway, in my opinion. It really like their attempt to add drum 'n' bass elements actually, since I love that stuff, but for some reason they made the overall sound quality of the song trash. The drums and bass in the verses and bridges are tinny and quiet, while the chorus they're too loud and really muffled. Why is the mastering so terrible? On the OST version no less. Also I don't like how they removed some of the musical elements from the chorus, making it sound more atonal. The singing doesn't sounds as good without a backing that matches tightly with it.
