It holds the song back, because the content of the song itself is pretty good and could certainly bring it higher than this. The melody could use a couple more sections, since it really just swaps back and forth between two, but I like both of those sections quite a bit. Solid beat and pace, as to be expected from a racing game. I'm digging it - someone really needs to remaster it or something so it doesn't sound like it was recorded on a potato. fun fact, Initial D: Another Stage actually isn't a racing game.
