I played some co-op with my friend this evening. It's super easy to get together as the game just spawns you in next to your friend, more or less, but early on, there's not a huge amount of actual co-operating. Outside of base building, we mostly ran around independently and searched for stuff. The new terrain modifier is cool, though the base version burns through resources too quickly for my liking. It's fun and we'll play it again (mostly because we bought it to play together in the first place).

I'd say if you played it when it launched and liked it, but got bored or didn't have much to do, now's a good time to try it again, but if you hated the core gameplay loop back then, you'll still hate it now.
