They normally have pretty extreme variety not only in design, but also mechanics, often having characters with completely unique gimmicks such a special meters or ammo. Shoto clones as are often seen in Capcom games may technically not be clones in the most literal of sense, but it would be stupid to deny the overarching similarities in their combat style even if the specifics of their moves result in different combo chains. --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz.
