It depends.

If you have a preference for lighter complexions, it's not racist to pass on dating something with a darker complexion. If you find out that the blond guy you're dating has black ancestry and you break up with him because of it, you're racist.


I've had several friends that were hispanic, middle eastern or 1/4 Asian who look white get ghosted immediately by girls once they found out that they weren't caucasian.


I don't suppose it would help if someone explained to any one of those girls that the chances she's 100% white is very, very, very, very slim.

I pass for white despite being half Mexican. Like, great grandparents on my father's side crossed the border in their lifetime Mexican. The amount of people who react with a tell as they see or hear my surname is pretty high. They're also the only group that reliably fucks up pronouncing it.
