The only time I've ever seen it, is if its a birthday. Like, at some restaurants, you can alert the staff and order a special dessert for someone's bday without them knowing, and the server will bring it and sing happy birthday with you while clapping.

Other then that. I have never seen anyone clap. Sooo where are you getting this idea from?

I was going to say this, too. Birthdays and stuff have claps, but not just for the food itself...
