The thing with Lestat at the end was not in the book. It didn't make any sense how he got from New Orleans to San Francisco. Though he wasn't as hurt as you think. One meal would have perked him right up. Then why was he all weak as fuck and scared of Brad Pitt when Pitt found him? Psychological trauma/PTSD. Lestat acts all cool and collected, but he's actually been through a lot. Also remember the last time he saw Louis, Louis set him on fire. They are working on a TV series now based on the books, like Game of Thrones. Anne Rice is very involved (she was not involved with the movie at all, except for writing the script, and she was not involved in Queen of the Damned at all).
