Okay humor me this I guess - if someone goes through all four of those steps and one of their allies, let's say their closest ally, has a power that can keep them in the game even after veto/eviction (ie Sam's extra life), but they choose not to use it, is it still a backdoor since there was still a potential escape for them? Yeah, that's still a backdoor.
