Is it?

...Yes?

I currently own 24 games on the PS4. Of those, none of them are sports games, and only one of them would really fall under the guise of FPS - and of them all, precisely two of them are on the Switch (Skyrim and Minecraft: Story Mode).

Of the few games I'm looking forward to on the horizon, precisely zero of them are being released on the Switch.

So the problem becomes, while we can phrase things in the way of a tautology ("the Switch is the perfect console for people who want to play the games that are on the Switch"), I'd argue that it isn't necessarily "a great console for anything outside FPS shooters and sports games". Especially if someone doesn't give a single wet shit about Nintendo first party fare.

Once first party is out of the equation, I wouldn't say it's necessarily a better platform for any specific genre (except maybe JRPG) than any of the other consoles or PC already are.

But I'm more than willing to be proven wrong. Give me a list of your top 20 "must own" Switch games, and maybe you'll come up with some I didn't even think of, which will somehow sway my previous "not giving a shit" perspective (but again, you probably want to steer clear of things like Odyssey or Breath of the Wild or Smash Bros, because those probably aren't selling me on anything - their predecessors certainly never sold me on the Wii-U, or the Wii, or the GameCube, or the N64).

I don't understand the argument you're trying to make. Again like I said in post 43, I'm not telling you what you should or shouldn't like.

Secondly, the fact that only one of your 24 games on PS4 falls in the real of shooter/sports game leads me to think, hey, he might like a switch since the switch's selling point is definitely neither of those genres.

I understand Nintendo doesn't interest you. That's fine. If BotW, Odyssey, Smash, Octopath, Xenoblade, etc. aren't up your alley, then don't get a Switch. I'm not here to force you to like those particular series, and I'm not here to tell you to get a Switch.

As for the "list me your top 20 switch games" - These games aren't about quantity, they're about quality. I've dropped 150+ hours into XBC2, at least 100 in BotW, and I bet I'll end up cracking triple digits for Ocotpath as well. And of course Smash is on the horizon.

So I have to ask again, what is the point/argument you're trying to make? All I really see is your personal lack of interest in Nintendo games, which, again, is 100% fine. It just sounds like you're trying to argue something but I can't figure out what your point is.
