It's just giant info dumps most of the time due to the authors illness preventing him from drawing too much, so he puts more text to tell "more story" in less chapters. It really sucks. Like Seabass pointed out, the author has completely given up on "show don't tell" which is often a crucial piece of good storytelling. I haven't seen this arc animated but I'd have assumed they cut that out a bit.. but it sounds like it's as bad as ever. They passed this issue on to the anime. That sucks. Manga stuff. It's gotten even worse in the current manga arc. It's like he's given up completely on telling a story well and has settled on telling it at all. I've dropped the series over it. Kurapika was talking with some lady on the boat about a princess and rival families and plots and after a bunch of those giant exposition text boxes I just realized I don't give a fuck anymore. --- Cly at Work So more power to North Korea for this one.
