Pipe for offense. Dustpan for defense.

You need a weapon. You reach your hand towards the pipe, but the moment you make contact, a floating square appears in the center of your vision.

[ Inventory Module activated. Mode: STACK ]

The pipe starts disintegrating into a bunch of pixel-like particles, and then they all spiral around your right arm.

[ Pipe acquired. Equipped to MAINHAND ]

It doesn't seem like Ed saw any of that since he's still rummaging through the locker.

You get up and walk over to the dustpan, thinking of using it as a shield. Upon grabbing it, it also gets pixelized and gathered around your left arm.

[ Dustpan acquired. Equipped to OFFHAND ]

You now see something new on your HUD under HP and SP--a flashing yellow caution symbol with the words "Low memory." Sounds important, but you're not really sure what it means.
You figure you might as well try these things out. "Hey Ed, you think you can show me a few pointers on fighting?"

Ed pauses his rummaging to look at you with a raised eyebrow. "Son, I'm a janitor, not a martial artist." He turns back to the locker. "Besides, even a pantsless dumbass can figure out that swinging a stick at someone hurts."

You scratch your head in defeated agreement to Ed. You also remember the clothes he threw at you just lying on the floor. You're not really sure about wearing it, but you might as well take it with you just in case. You crouch down to grab it, but it becomes pixelized.

[ Janitor's clothes acquired. ]

The yellow caution symbol on your HUD now turns red, with the new words "Memory full."

Just then, you feel the ground shake a little alongside the sounds of thundering footsteps.

Ed clicks his tongue. "Guess looking for this is gonna have to wait." He stands up tall and starts running out the door. "C'mon son, I don't know what that was just now, but it's probably trouble--"

The moment Ed steps foot out the closet, he gets tackled away by a giant figure. You run out to see what just happened, only to see a colossal Wet-floor sign ramming Ed against the wall at the end of the corridor.

It senses you and hops around to face you, then starts hopping at you at top speed, leaving cracks on the floor and shaking the ground with every hop.

If you didn't shit your pants back at the cubicles, you sure would have right here.

Simu-scuffle: Ironic Wet-floor Sign

What's your plan?
