I dislike how he doesn't know what star wars is. he just calls Empire Strikes Back "that really old movie, on the ice planet"

a nerd like Peter Parker would fucking know Star Wars. that line annoyed me

There's a scene earlier in the movie where he and Ned are building a Lego Death Star, so he definitely knows what Star Wars is.

I took his line about "that really old movie on the ice planet" as being that maybe he thought Tony wouldn't know what he was talking about. I mean, your average person certainly wouldn't know what Hoth or AT-AT are by name if you were to mention them. So he probably thought Tony wouldn't either.

no, it's just supposed to be the movies are old to him. to stark, they aren't. stark gets annoyed because he refrences a lot of movies, and says most of them are really old

Peter was dumbing it down for Tony since Peter couldn't have known if Tony was a movie fan or a Star Wars fan. He also just happened to annoy Tony at the same time by calling him old. Those are not mutually exclusive events. He did both at the same time.

Just think about it for a minute. Tony is the CEO of a large company. That is literally all Peter really knows about Tony. It's difficult for anyone to think of a bigtime CEO like that to be a person who watches movies or Star Wars. Most people's perceptions of a CEO is that of a workaholic who spends all their time working. So Peter was just dumbing it down for him and unintentionally annoyed him at the same time.
