Epyo - I agree a bit with your critique on the games sometimes being rote, and this is especially true for "item drops" and things like that in the nonlinear Castlevanias. I remember as a kid having the patience to actually 100% all the item drops in DoS, but maaaaan is that tedious and something I would never do now. And the whole soul system relied on random drops didn't it? Yeah, a replay might tarnish that game a tad in my mind, though I'm not certain. At least the luck stat exists to help speed the tedium up, but it's just kind of a silly thing to begin with. One of the reasons why Metroid is the superior series -- though mainly it's just because Metroid's atmosphere is godly. I honestly never remember using Charlotte in Portrait like...at all.
