How do you know for sure that your family had nothing to do with slavery?
After all you may not fully be aware of what your ancestors did during the 1800's/early 1900's.
Hell, how do you know for sure what they're even telling you is the truth?

my grandma had a scar on her forehead from when some boys threw rocks at her for not speaking English well in gradeschool. :v

What about your great grand parents or the people before them?
Anywhere between AD 1- 1865, slavery was widespread like 99% of the world.
No country on earth was safe from it, and almost every civilization on earth has had its hand on it.

If we back that far then pretty much all races were enslaving their own or other races, that doesn't really have anything to do with "white guilt."

But yeah, its dumb. Even *if* your ancestors were terrible and had slaves, you didn't so it's not your problem. In my case my ancestors fought for the North in the Civil War.

I dunno, I grew up in a pretty mixed neighborhood and it seemed everyone was on an even playing field, locally.
