It was one of the best video game websites in my opinion. Square was facing bankruptcy back then, and they thought Final Fantasy was going to be their last game before they went out of business. Hence the final in Final Fantasy. They weren't expecting it to become such a blockbuster hit that would make them one of best the video game companies. That was a totally unexpected surprise. This was long before Square-Enix existed and before Square was a titanic game developer. Back then Square was a very tiny game developer that most people never heard of. Their games weren't popular. The original title was indeed going to be Fighting Fantasy, but they had to change it due to copyright issues. They then came up with the title Final Fantasy, because as said, they were facing bankruptcy and thought it was going to be the last game they would ever make. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
