It's the worst Nintendo home console vs. a top 3 all time console. Frankly, it should be an even bigger blow out, and that overrated mediocrity of a game, OoT, is probably going to take out like 8 games before finally dying.
Shocked FF8 is doing so well, though. It's giving Suikoden 2 a serious challenge for contest MVP.

If anything, people seem to praise it a lot more now. In the early 2000s, it seemed everyone agreed that the PSX was far superior, and even GameCube had surpassed it.

The PSX was far superior. Generally speaking the best consoles are the PS2, SNES, and PSX with nothing else really coming terribly close.
Never really understood the love for the GC. That was when I truly realized Nintendo had given up on anything but first party games.
Yeah, PS2, SNES, and PS1 are by far and away the best systems, because of their games libraries.
I like GC a lot more than you though, apparently. It's Nintendo's 3rd best home console after SNES and NES for me. Smash Melee, Baten Kaitos 1 and 2, Tales of Symphonia, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (which are my favorite 3D Zeldas along w/ BotW)...
