If you simply don't have internet, that's one thing, but voluntarily keeping your systems permanently disconnected is going to make you miss out on some pretty useful and/or important stuff in patches, including free content updates (quite a few Nintendo games have had these) and fixes for major bugs, even without looking at DLC (which can be a very worthwhile addition to games). Depriving yourself of that over pointless paranoia is just silly. The Internet isn't going to break your games. Quite the opposite, in most cases.

I usually have internet unless they're working on something. I'm not lying when saying my 3DS was online once or twice ever, my U hasn't seen the internet, and (this is embarrassing) I've yet to use my Switch because of everything else I want to finish. Since you'll ask why, it's because I tend not to bother with DLC. Same goes for my Sony systems. With so many discs ahead of me I go through the SP, maybe dabble in the MP, and move to the next game without so much as looking at DLC even when free. I know I'm missing stuff but it's not like I'm short of things to play.

Maybe you recall my saying I'm like 2 years behind. Often when opening a game there's a HUGE patch. I don't always wait. I started Bloodborne and UC4 without their patches. The former stunk and the latter eventually finished since I went online for an hour or two. Who plays UC for the MP anyway?

So uh, this is kinda separate from my whole digital vs physical argument, or why Steam should be banned. While they're sorta related, trying to discuss all of them together makes this topic longer than it needs to be.
