It's why Kylo Ren is such a compelling villain; he's impotent and lacks discipline, and that makes him unpredictable. You truly don't know what he's going to do next. That being said, him falling to the Light would be entirely out of line with Rey more or less accepting that he is beyond saving, and even if he could be saved, the damage he has caused can't be undone.
