This hits me sometimes because, and i dont mean to sound like a snob, listening to somewhat obscure music makes this sweeter, i feel. i dont know.

So yesterday I was walking in the city, and i am talking to my best friend. Then, out of nowhere a car drives past, probably at 15-20 mph on a bridge also made buy the brooklyn bridge guy. anyways, i hear a drum beat out of the corner of my ear, and I say to my friend, "uhh..." and just start sprinting. No time to explain, I just ran, because, I had to hear more.

I want to say the song was "In the Absence of Strong Evidence to the Contrary, One May Step Out of the Way of the Charging Bull," by one of my favorite bands of all time, math rock pioneers Don Caballero. Incidentally they hail from the city I am from as well.

So, as soon as i heard what i think was the drum beat near the end, i ran. Because I had to know who was playing this, and since I was wearing their t-shirt at the time as well, I had to represent.

I sprinted full on, and actually did catch up to the car at a red light, and listened for a few seconds. Then, I shouted "Don Cab for life" and I don't know if they heard me, or understood me, or what, and it probably looked weird, i felt like I had to say something.

The rest of the night I was questioning if I ever even heard Don Cab from that car that evening.
