It was a very IRL-relevant type villain, but basically used as a facade for the real villain, who was, again, just a rich guy in charge of things. Might as well: Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King This was good because it got to play on a fun character, fake Mandarin, who didn't get enough time in Iron Man 3. Also, it established that there IS a real Mandarin in the world, which is potentially cool, but also potentially dumb, especially if they establish this and never continue it. The only thing I heard about the 10 rings stuff from before was the Rhodes comic where he missed the attack on New York.
