I didn't get the draws I was looking for in the other games, which could have put me top of the group, but I would still clinch at least 2nd place and a probable playoff spot if I can win my last match... Match 10 Lithuania 2, Bosnia-Herzegovina 0 After 60 minutes of tense, scoreless football, I finally made the breakthrough, (if I recall correctly) scoring on a header off the crossbar (it all kind of blurs together and I wasn't keeping track of anything because I thought I had no chance to qualify lol). Bosnia-Herzegovina then really cranked up their attacking efforts, assaulting my net multiple times. Lee. Cow did I peak at the exact right time. Hadn't been in the top 2 all campaign, hadn't had a positive goal difference all campaign, until the very last match. Shoutouts to Liechtenstein and Latvia for punching way above their weight to keep me in it - you da real MVPs. Feels so good. UEFA Playoffs: Czech Republic vs Sweden France vs Ukraine Lithuania vs Belgium Russia vs Slovenia Feels not so good. I suppose I had to face a strong team in the playoff, but Belgium was one of the best teams in Europe at the time. Still, this had the feel of a team of destiny - I had gotten so many lucky breaks up to this point that maybe, just maybe, I had a chance. Home leg: Lithuania 2, Belgium 1 TEAM OF DESTINY. In what I can only describe as an act of divine intervention, I beat Belgium. BTW I've been checking the game difficulty throughout the campaign to make sure it's still on Legendary because I can't believe any of this is happening. I can't even remember how I scored the two goals, except that one was probably a header. I do remember that I took the lead, allowed a goal, then took the lead again in around the 75th minute. I thought Bosnia-Herzegovina's push to equalize late was scary - that was nothing compared to Belgium. They hit the post twice within about 5 seconds at one point, with my goalie practically standing on his head. It was seriously a miracle I wasn't scored on a 2nd time. Still, even with this win, I was very nervous knowing I had to play at Belgium, and since they were able to get an away goal (the tiebreaker if the aggregate score is tied), I would likely need a draw.
