Topic	Qualifying w/all nations in 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil - Lithuania Mania
jcgamer107 06/13/18 6:49:17 AM #3:	Here's a rundown of my qualification campaign, and then I'll reveal the World Cup groups: Lithuania was in Group G in UEFA qualifying for the 2014 cycle, which, fortunately for me, is probably the easiest European group. Group G Bosnia and Herzegovina Greece Latvia Liechtenstein Lithuania Slovakia Despite a lower degree of difficulty, I previously was unable to even finish 2nd in this group with Bosnia & Herzegovina (got 3rd with 13 points), so my expectations were very low. Match 1 Lithuania 1, Slovakia 1 Started the campaign decently enough, matching Lithuania's real-life result of drawing Slovakia 1-1 at home. Also, annoyingly, like the real match, I scored first and had the lead late, before conceding an equalizer. Latvia 2, Greece 1 Liechtenstein 1, Bosnia-Herzegovina 0 Group G Latvia - 3pts, +1 GD (2 goals scored) Liechtenstein - 3pts, +1 GD (1 goal scored) Slovakia - 1pt, 0 GD (1 goal scored) Lithuania - 1pt, 0 GD (1 goal scored) Greece - 0pts, -1 GD (1 goal scored) Bosnia-Herzegovina, 0pts, -1 GD (0 goals scored) So, right off the bat this group made no fucking sense. Basically, as you'll see, what the game did was rubberband everyone extremely hard so no that no one played consistantly well and got too big of a lead in the group table. This is essentially what allowed me to qualify, as I did not start very well. Match 2 Greece 3, Lithuania 0 Flat out got spanked @Greece, though this was the only match that completely got away from me. Bosnia-Herzegovina 5, Latvia 1 Slovakia 3, Liechtenstein 0 Suddenly the other teams are playing how you'd expect... Group G Slovakia - 4pts, +3 GD Bosnia-Herzegovina - 3pts, +3 GD Greece - 3pts, +2 GD Liechtenstein - 3pts, -2 GD Latvia - 3pts, -3 GD Lithuania - 1pt, -3 GD So, bottom of the standings early on, but the group, as it would remain the entire campaign, was a clusterfuck. Match 3 Liechtenstein 1, Lithuania 1 Really annoying draw here as I once again had the lead before conceding, against a team I really should have beaten. Greece 2, Bosnia-Herzegovina 1 Slovakia 2, Latvia 0 Group G Slovakia - 7pts, +5 GD Greece - 6pts, +3 GD Liechtenstein - 4pts, -2 GD Bosnia-Herzegovina - 3pts, +2 GD Latvia - 3pts, -5 GD Lithuania - 2pts, -3 GD So, unfortunately missed a good chance to jump up into the middle of the group there, but no one's pulling away. Match 4 Bosnia-Herzegovina 1, Lithuania 1 This I considered a good draw, in a match I very much could have lost, where the opponent scored first.
