There has to be an extremely small percentage of players that this will be useful for. The thing is, you don't need to beat these right away, since they don't disappear. They have to have something that's a challenge for the long time players and big spenders otherwise those people will get bored and stop spending. This is pretty much the most generous possible way they can do that, where (a) the stuff sticks around so you don't miss anything if you can't beat it yet, (b) has three difficulty levels so you may be able to do the easier one, and (c) even gives rewards just for getting the boss to 50% HP. Personally I'm really looking forward to the new Torments since I've already farmed all the magicites. --- I made a living on time trial blowing myself off to cross the finish line at ludicrous speed. -transience ...
