Aww, Coulson got stabbed. I know they retcon his death, butI didn't realize how important the preceding movies were, in setting him up. This is a really sad moment.

I do find it kind of dumb that they didn't realize that Stark Tower would be the power source.

"If we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we'll avenge it". I feel like that line is way more important than I might realize.

The chitauri have a freaking space whale. It roars.

When Thor is talking to Loki, you can see his eyes flicker.

OMG Chief Souza is totally in the Avengers! He's a NYPD officer that Cap gives orders to!

First real Avengers moment with Cap giving orders is pretty great, but it made me realize that the best VR game ever would be being Hulk jumping around NYC beating on Chitauri.

Black Widow just has things that insert into alien backs so that she can control its arms.

Ugh, they destroyed the Grand Central Terminal.

I've never been so glad for someone to rip of a super hero's mask. Cap looks way better without it. Also, Hawkeye running out of arrows is pretty funny.

Hulk catching Iron Man to save him might be the cutest thing in this movie. "I don't know what [shawarma] is, but I want to try it."

Stan Lee cameo happens in the montage of newsreels. "Superheroes in New York? Give me a break!" Short and sweet. Excellent.

And of course, ending with only the A of the Avengers Tower remaining.

Post-credits scene 1: Thanos's first appearance. Niiiiiiiiice. This would whet peoples' appetites for almost a decade.

Post-credits scene 2: Everyone is so disinterested, but Banner and Thor seem to enjoy the food. Tony looks so annoyed with his choice, and since Chris Evans was growing a beard, he had to hide his face, which made him look super pissed.

Joss Whedon was a great pick for this film. I thought that the pacing done was brilliantly - introducing every character one by one, bringing them together slowly. The only particularly weird part was Thor just showing up, but eh. I also was a little annoyed that Black Widow figured out Loki's plan to set loose the Hulk, then joined everyone in the yelling match.

As many people have said before, Whedon managed to take a team film and make every member feel like they had a strong contribution to the movie. Well, Hawkeye got dicked over a bit, but that's alright. He had his chance to run out of arrows.

Who was the most useful in the attack on NY? Obviously Iron Man delivers the nuke, which was key, and Widow closed the gate, but what aside from that? I guess Thor, whose lightning strikes took out multiple dreadnoughts and tons. He also went to town with Hulk and helped take out another, and just beefed all over people. Then probably Tony next? He had the most mobility and probably one of the highest kill counts, just from being there from the beginning and flying around blasting everyone.

Then probably Hulk > Hawkeye, because he took out more of the space whales than Hawkeye did. Cap and Widow battle it out for last. Regardless, technically Tony delivered the nuke which killed everything, so...

Loki delivered, but it was interesting with him being the villain. An intentional choice, but having just watched Thor, it felt out of character for him to be so ruthless (perhaps there is a reason he acted that way). The sympathy he had earned had all but disappeared. Still, he was personally defeated so easily by the Hulk that it was rather lame.

Mark Ruffalo was a great recast. Fits the tone of the MCU a lot better than ED NORTON.

All of New York just got so fucked up. And the shawarma place still served. Dedication.
