Post-credits scene was top notch. Loki finding his way to the Tesseract was great. But the significance didn't matter as much until you watch Captain America... kinda wish I saved it for now then, since that's when it got revealed to be the great power that it was.

So pretty much...

Iron Man takes the world into a new age of power.
Hulk, at the same time, does the same in terms of super-powered beings.
Iron Man 2 shows that the danger and power is spreading, and that perhaps one man can't do it all by himself (and introduces Black Widow).
Thor shows that there are other realms, and that "magic and science are the same". But also that Loki is kinda a bad dude (and introduces Hawkeye).
And then Captain America introduces the Tesseract, the first truly consequential Macguffin.

And this takes us all to the Avengers. I enjoyed Thor a lot, so I'll probably hop right into the Avengers today (already seen it, but due for a rewatch). Let's finish talking Thor first though.

Good action, great world building. Most of the characters, including side characters, were well-developed and heavily appreciated. I LOVED how they did Hawkeye... just a little taste of him... and he doesn't even do anything.

Coulson... the guy gets a LOT better in Avengers. But to this point, he's shown in every movie but Hulk... and Captain America? So he's basically the guy. It's nice seeing how SHIELD develops and everything. I hope they go a little bit more into how Howard and Peggy helped start SHIELD. Maybe in the TV series. That's going to be an adventure, when I get around to that.

I didn't really like the romance aspect of Thor. It felt cheap. Like, let's use Natalie Portman's star power, and write in a typical love story just cuz a hero needs a love story. It gives him a little bit more heroism to destroy the bridge in the end cutting her off. That said, Loki specifically told Heimdall there were other ways to travel the realms, so...

Overall, good movie. Probably just below Captain America, though depending on my mood, I could see it flip, but whereas Cap had pacing issues, Thor just had... explanation issues. IDK. Out of all the movies so far, this one feels the most like an episode of the MCU. Which is weird, because it's the most multi-versal of the movies so far. But I digress.
