Topic	Why is it expected in society that we praise someone who has or is having a kid?

You go from normal people living to a place of massive sleep deprivation for multiple months or years, while learning how to care for a completely helpless being that they just send home with you and you have to figure it out - no manual included. And once you figure them out, then their needs change just enough that it feels like starting from scratch again.
