There's definitely way more people on the other side of the aisle who jump at every chance to condemn something tangentially racist out of pure OCD-like tendencies and not because they legitimately care about the impact that statement has on someone (because it often has little or no impact).

Well he's blatantly wrong. Let's go back to a recent event where two black men we're kicked out and arrested. That's pretty damn impactful.

I'm talking about the culture of obsessing over words and supposed "dog whistle" statements, not actual events.
