Guns have been a right since 1787 and you can obtain concealed carry permits, yet you have a fraction of a chance of ever using a gun against a would-be attacker. You're far more likely to shoot someone, either accidentally or in a fit of rage, or to commit suicide with it. You'll most likely never fire it at all. By all means, if people want to own guns ok, but we are causing our problems by fetishizing them and pretending that danger is around every corner.
