Usually a cut aerial line isn't something you can just fix unless you have a lot of extra slack on the end that wasn't cut so that you could stretch it to its original span (or at least long enough to get past the hook/anchor on the pole that holds the tension). Most of the time this isn't the case so a new length has to be strung up and run from the pole to the house

Just trying to splice it together won't work since the tension on the line will just pull it apart again
