#350:

ASoIaF: Oh hey Tyrion and Sansa appears to be happening, although I'm still not sure why we set that up. I can get on board with that I guess, but sucks for Shea. :\

Ready Player One: we had a three-paragraph tangent about fappin'. I can't really think of a book where I'd WANT to read about the characters doing that, but if I could, it certainly wouldn't be this one.

STEAM BATTLE #5- Disgaea: Disgaea is already the winner in which game I like more, but can it overcome the relative freshness of FFVII? It's taken me a bit, but I think I'm getting used to the mouse/keyboard controls, and will probably like them better eventually. That said, there are a couple user interface changes that I don't appreciate- trying to continue a combo on an already dead enemy appears to use up that unit's attack anyway. Don't like that at all, and I'm about 95% sure the other versions don't do that. The other thing is I can't move through units while setting up a special with I. We're going through the castle of some dude named Vyers. Sounds like a loser.

THE VERDICT: It comes down to gut, as predicted. ....Gut says FFVII. Maybe it's the ever so slightly different feel of Disgaea throwing it off a hair, or maybe I am just really wanting to play something I haven't played (much) before. Bit of an upset here- despite FFVII's higher seed, I came into today expecting Disgaea to pull out the win. Sancutary should be an interesting matchup next round- they're both games I've played a good bit but not come close to beating, and they both took out NIS games I really like this round.
