I don't think 12 step is for me but I'm trying to do the best I can and learn as many lessons as I can. After this I want to do a cognitive behavioral therapy intensive outpatient program.

Do you have a diagnoses of anything or was this the first step?
12 steps tend to focus on things that don't relate to everyone.

The first step is admitting you have no control or power over your addiction

That is horribly untrue. You have control over your addiction and thinking a "higher power" is somehow going to stop you will just end up in you relapsing and failing to address your personal shortcomings.

Hopefully you can love yourself after all of this because that is the issue, not your lack of Mohammed or whatever. You are filling a void and stuffing that void with something else is equally unhealthy.
