The turn started when Outkast started to get popular, then the creative juices started to flow in the rap game. Love Below/Speakerboxxx was the last album I bought. I think the most distinctive change in rap, post 2000 or so, is the change in the sound. Rap is closer to pop music than ever before. And while a song here or there might sound good, most of it, is as much pop as Journey is than classic rock. --- I think I need a drink.
