Your outlook seems as extreme as theirs to be honest

Youre defining the entire group based on the worst of the bunch and putting the entire burden on them alone to ease tensions

He's not exactly wrong though. The eroding of personal responsibility in our society has resulted in people trying to excuse shitty behavior at any cost. The most popular modern scapegoats are mental health and poverty, for instance. Combine that with the outright refusal to admit that some people are just "broken" and cannot be fixed and you get groups like BLM protesting black criminals getting shot while committing crimes, while they never denounce the crimes being committed by the deceased.

I prefer civil unrest to an America where stealing and property theft is all you need to justify an execution.

The tricky thing about that is that there's almost no penalty for stealing, causing property damage, or being a general menace to society. Meanwhile, execution is almost entirely taken off the table as punishment for even the most heinous of crimes. We live in a society that increasingly cares more about the rights of criminals than the rights of the innocent and the endgame of that is going to be things like vigilante justice or outright anarchy.

Refusing to rid our society of the worst it has to offer is going to slowly cause our death.
