67. Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction

Although the game came out in 2007, I played it seven years later in 2014. The fourth game in the series felt a little off...I don't know why, but it felt like the missions and planets were not a impeccably designed as they were in Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal. Planets were mostly empty and small, with a few enemies and battles taking place here and there, and most of it involved going on fetch quests.

I dunno, I would say I grew out of the series, but I loved the recent remake on PS4. I guess Tools of Destruction was more like GTA4 -- brand new console and future graphics, but a step back in actual game design.

66. Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Superstar Saga had the best overworld, feeling more like a Zelda map with lots to find and do that opens up as you progress and acquire new abilities. I was saddened that no other Mario and Luigi game was able to come up with a cool world map like that. Bowser's Inside Story world is small and rather straightforward. The game is also oddly paced. You don't reach the Toad Town until halfway through the game.

I liked the Bowser inside sections as well as the improved combat, which wasn't nearly as ridiculous and overlong as this game's successor.

Problem is, Nintendo thought it would be a great idea to use the "blow in the microphone" gimmick which is absolute shit. In one Giant Bowser battle, you have to blow as hard as you can to defeat a train. If you don't, you'll probably lose. This is where I gave up. I tried multiple times, and I just couldn't do it. I was also extremely frustrating and never wanted to blow on anything ever again.
