This game is actually pretty damn good on the gameplay level. Feels like a decidedly old-school JRPG with a modern touch. It's also got chibi famous FF characters and an interesting plot. I don't know the rest, as I only got halfway through. I kept dropping it and coming back to it, and it's still sitting on my PS4 front page. I can't say I'm not interesting in finding out about what happens to Rayne and Leyn or whatever their names are. Now imagine if Jar Jar Binks was turned into a Final Fantasy character, and gained a fairly prominent role. Because World of FF does exactly that: Tama, the mascot companion that's with you the entire game is the most annoying Final Fantasy character ever designed. Hell, possibly one of the most irritating characters in any game, period. She's up there with Lymle. She's got the same stupid verbal tics CONSTANTLY, thoughout the WHOLE game. What made this worse is that there are other characters just like him! In fact, many of the NPCs in this game that help you and that are not classic FF characters are TERRIBLY annoying. Even the two main characters have annoying personality traits. The girl makes fun of the boy, and the boy is rather stupid. These are probably meant to make you laugh but they do nothing but make the girl seem like a complete bitch and the boy to seem like he's about to fall off the spectrum. The only reason this game isn't down hanging out with Star Ocean 4 is because the combat, pacing, and overall game design turned out to be fun and quite charming. Maybe this was designed to get your kids to play Final Fantasy, but the problem is the game is bloated with various different systems and mechanics that I've had to look up the trillions of tutorials several times to attempt to understand what I was doing, and it's still complicated to this day.
