These wussy liberals want peace but we need these to have it". loooool To be fair, even the Declaration of Independence references that the rights don't come from government itself: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed The fact that rights supersede government is a meaningful distinction, because it justifies intervention on behalf of a nation's citizens. The guy is literally saying his right to own weapons meant to kill people is a right granted to him by Jesus Christ. And just because a constitution says something is true, doesn't mean it is.
