Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Original Release: 2009 Developer: Infinity Ward Platform: X-Box 360 The two CoD games that came before this were much better, and before you tell me I'm wrong and there's no possible way that World at War could be better than any MW game, I've got two words for you: Nazi Zombies. More on this when I actually rank World at War, but I'll just say I poured hours into multiplayer for that game. Meanwhile, Modern Warfare 1, which I played in 2007 just shy of this list, had a spectacular single player campaign with some amazing missions like the Gillie suit operation. Modern Warfare 2 unfortunately never reaches that high. The only real memorable mission here is No Russian, and that was because of shock value. There's nothing remotely fun about killing a bunch of civilians in the airport. It's like Infinity Ward just wanted to cause as much controversy as they possible could. Although yes, it did have a pretty big story purpose, as it kicked off the war in question, it's still the only real mission in the game that's different from the others than I can remember. Everything else is about running around and shooting bad guys, just like any other single player FPS campaign. The multiplayer aspect is also pretty disappointing. I just didn't care for any of the maps, and Black Ops had some better maps from what I can remember, although that won't be ranked seeing as I only played that game's multiplayer a few times and nothing else.
