But a mental health concern becomes a mental illness when ongoing signs and symptoms cause frequent stress and affect your ability to function. Mental illness can be mental illness without significant stress or inhibit someone's ability to function. See posts #16 and #18 My concern is the ulterior motive I often see of using a mental illness classification to stigmatize others.
