Well, there were best friends for a long time as children. And it's not like she wasn't thinking of Chloe. I believe she did write a few letters. Not many, but some, IIRC... Not only that. She doesn't know many people or have many friends... It makes sense she would attached herself to Chloe and her family, who are the closest people to her there. Basically like a second family... ---
